Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the declined 0.11%, while the index fell 0.62%, and the index lost 0.08%.

The best performers of the session on the were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:), which rose 1.60% or 0.18 points to trade at 11.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayer AG NA (ETR:) added 1.53% or 0.91 points to end at 60.46 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) was up 1.42% or 1.82 points to 130.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:), which fell 4.05% or 9.20 points to trade at 218.00 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) declined 1.61% or 7.20 points to end at 439.70 and Linde PLC (ETR:) was down 1.34% or 4.20 points to 308.20.

The top performers on the MDAX were United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which rose 2.00% to 19.67, Freenet AG NA (ETR:) which was up 1.62% to settle at 23.21 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:) which gained 1.27% to close at 9.64.

The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 10.42% to 6.31 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:) which lost 4.83% to settle at 42.00 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:) which was down 3.64% to 21.71 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR:) which rose 4.12% to 30.86, United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which was up 2.00% to settle at 19.67 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:) which gained 1.62% to close at 23.21.

The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 2.56% to 18.29 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) which lost 1.61% to settle at 439.70 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:) which was down 1.38% to 32.90 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 365 to 304 and 66 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.88% to 18.91.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.01% or 0.15 to $1,863.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.22% or 0.98 to hit $79.16 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.21% or 1.05 to trade at $85.56 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 103.13.
