Honey Singh opens up on his low phase, reveals Deepika Padukone and Akshay Kumar went out of their way to help | Hindi Movie News

Controversial singer Honey Singh, popularly known as Yo Yo Honey Singh is always in the news – whether it is for an ugly divorce battle with former wife Shalini Talwar, using objectionable lyrics in his songs, or his alcohol or substance abuse addiction, the 39-year-old has courted one controversy after the other.

The singer, in a recent interaction with Bollywood Hungama, opened up on his low phase and how he wriggled out it. The singer said that when he was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, it was Deepika Padukone who suggested him a doctor in Delhi that he eventually sought treatment from. He also said that Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar used to intermittently call and check up on him, but sometimes the singer was in such a bad shape that he could not even talk to someone on the phone.

The rapper also expressed his gratitude towards Salman Khan for helping him with his comeback by offering him a song in the upcoming movie ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’. Opening up about shooting for a song in Salman’s upcoming film, he said, “Salman bhai called and told me that he wants to do a song with me. We last collaborated on ‘Yaar Na Mile’ from ‘Kick’ but I couldn’t feature in it as I was shooting for a Punjabi movie in London. We have shot one song together for ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’.”
He also revealed that Akshay called him for a song titled ‘Kudi Chamkili’ for his upcoming movie ‘Selfiee’.

“I want to thank these two legends for helping me in my struggle of coming back again. I hope 2023 is going to be massive for me,” he said in a report on IANS.

Honey Singh is now in a much better space and has in fact found love again. Last year, he made his relationship with model girlfriend Tina official as he introduced her to the media at an event and said “Meri girlfriend baithi hai Tina, isne mujhe ye naam dia hai. Isne bola ki you are Honey 3.0″ (my girlfriend Tina is here and she has given me this name, Honey 3.0)

Yo Yo Honey Singh had also recently opened up about the rising popularity of raps in India. According to him, it will take time for India to accept rap as contrary to melodies, they have no scale. The rapper said from the past 70-80 years, our Indian public is addicted to melodies. These melodies are steeped deep inside our souls. Rap on the contrary to melodies, has no scale. According to him, Rap is comparatively a dissonant song. To accept it, India will still take some time.

Honey Singh was earlier married to Shalini Talwar but the two divorced in September last year, with the singer apparently doling out Rs 1 crore as alimony, amidst domestic violence allegations levied by his former wife.
